<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode capable of sufficiently keeping voids on the surface layer and an electrochemical device using this. <P>SOLUTION: The electrode is equipped with a current collector 12 and an active material-containing layer 14 arranged on the current collector 12 and containing active material particles, and the number of peaks of particle size distribution of the active material particles 5 in a lower layer part 14a on the current collector 12 side in the active material-containing layer 14 is larger than the number of peaks of the particle size distribution of active material particles in a surface layer part 14b on the opposite side to the current collector 12 in the active material-containing layer 14, and the thickness of the lower layer part 14a is made 50-90% of the total thickness of the surface layer part 14b and the lower layer part 14a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
