<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency article housing box which can be installed in a gondola of an elevator, and can house emergency articles. <P>SOLUTION: This emergency article housing box 1 which is installed in the gondola 100 of the elevator includes a housing section 10a, an openable/closable lid section 10b, opening/closing fixing screws 12, and a bottom surface lid 10c. In this case, the housing section 10a houses a portable radio, a flashlight, crackers, or a PET bottle 31 for emergency water, which are used in an emergency. The openable/closable lid section 10b allows the PET bottle 31 for emergency water or the like to be taken out from the housing section 10a. The opening/closing fixing screws 12 fix the openable/closable lid section 10b in a manner inhibiting opening/closing at the normal time.
