PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a damping force variable damper attaining the suppression or the like of noise caused by a rapid increase of a damping force. SOLUTION: When a target damping force Dtgt is set at a step S6 or a step S7, the damper control device 50 retrieves and sets a target current Itgt from a target current map at a step S8. Subsequently, the damper control device 50 determines whether or not a present vehicle speed v inputted from a vehicle speed sensor 9 is higher than a vehicle speed determination threshold vth at a step S9, and after a vehicle speed gain Gv is set at a step S10 or a step S11, an applied current Y is calculated and set so that its initial variation speed becomes small at a step S12 based on the target current Itgt set at the step S8 and the vehicle speed gain Gv.
