PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent peeling of plating occurring around a welding laser irradiation part when welding a post-plating exterior can, formed by plating the surface of an exterior can with nickel by barrel plating or the like after processing a steel plate into an exterior-can shape, and a collector, mounted to an electrode body composed by combining positive/negative electrodes, while irradiating them with a welding laser beam. SOLUTION: Before welding by welding laser irradiation, a part in an exterior can receiving the welding laser irradiation and its surrounding are irradiated with a laser beam having a lower energy density than that of a welding laser beam so as to impart ductility to nickel plating by applying heat treatment to the part and its surrounding.
