PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select appropriate typical image data. SOLUTION: In an example shown in Fig.4, for example, each black circle mark shows image data of each picture taken for an affair consisting of three events. The processor shows the affair as a mixed distribution of normal distributions g1, g2 and g3 as probability density distributions of the three events, and estimates, for example, average valuesμα,μβ, andμγas parameters of the three probability distributions. The processor selects three image data Pα, Pβand Pγat a photographing time close to the average valuesμα,μβ, andμγas typical image data for the three events. The number of events is not limited to the three in Fig.4, and can be determined, even for the same affair, by a user or the processor based on the own determination.
