摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration control device for a building, which can effectively input relative displacement between members into a damping means. SOLUTION: A frame 12 of the vibration control device 10 is fixed onto a floor girder 52; a damper mounting support 72 is fixed to a lower surface of a ceiling girder 42; and the frame 12 and the damper mounting support 72 are connected together by means of a damper 74. An upper portion of the frame 12 and the ceiling girder 42 are connected together by means of an out-of-plane deformation suppressing member 76 which has rigidity in the longitudinal direction of a beam set low and has rigidity in an out-of-plane direction set high. When a building unit 60 sways due to earthquakes or the like, the frame 12 connected to the out-of-plane deformation suppressing member 76 is restrained from being relatively displaced in the out-of-plane direction with respect to the ceiling girder 42, that is to say, restrained from being tilted in the out-of-plane direction. Thus, relative displacement between the ceiling girder 42 and the floor girder 52 can be efficiently input into the damper 74, and the swaying motion of the building unit 60 can be efficiently reduced.
