PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated paperboard having a coating layer exhibiting good ink setting property in addition to a good varnishability, and keeping the strength even by using a decreased amount of a binder (especially the amount of latex in a coating liquid for forming a coating layer). SOLUTION: The coated paperboard includes a base paper for a coated paperboard, an undercoating layer formed by applying an undercoating liquid to at least one surface of the base paper for a coated paperboard, and a top-coating layer formed by applying a top-coating liquid on the undercoating layer. The undercoating liquid contains a pigment and an undercoating copolymer latex having a number-average particle diameter of 60-90 nm and containing an undercoating copolymer having a gel content of≥90%. The top-coating liquid contains a pigment and an top-coating copolymer latex having a number-average particle diameter of >90 nm and containing a top-coating copolymer having a gel content of≥80%.
