PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing and drying machine which can reduce an increase in temperature during drying operation with regard to electric parts near the outer wall of a water tank and can prevent breakdown of the electric parts caused by heat stress. SOLUTION: Cooling water flows through a water supply passageway for drying 43 towards a heat exchanger for dehumidification 33. A read switch 61 is installed near the outer wall of the water tank 3. The read switch 61 is in contact with an aluminum cooling panel 62 and this cooling panel 62 is in contact with the water supply passageway for drying 43. By this the coldness of cooling water is transmitted to the cooling panel 62 through the surface of the water supply passageway for drying 43 to cool down the read switch 61 by the cooling panel 62.
