Disclosed is a surface-protective film roll which is taken up in a roll-like shape without using any intermediate separator. Also disclosed is a method for producing the surface-protective film roll. Specifically disclosed is a surface-protective film roll which comprises a long base film and an adhesive layer crosslinked by the irradiation with electron beam. The adhesive layer is produced by irradiating a layer comprising an electron-beam-curable adhesive composition with electron beam, wherein the adhesive composition comprises a reactive diluent having at least one ethylenically unsaturated double bond in the molecule and a (meth)acrylic polymer. The surface-protective film roll is taken up without using any intermediate separator.
