The hose clip (11) has a clamping ring (12) around on end of the hose with two overlapping ends. One end (13), with an outer ratchet projection at its end is inserted through the other end (14) with a ratchet bar (19). A mounting leg (16,17) is bent outwards from both ends. When the free ends (25,26) of the legs are pressed together by pliers a force component aligned outwards is applied to the second end (14).
