<p>Fluorescent probe comprises two complementary hybridization sequences that are separated by a peptide with a recognition sequence for a target molecule, which also separates a donor chromophore from an acceptor chromophore. The length of the peptide is such that the hybridization sequences can hybridize with each other. Independent claims are also included for: (1) array on which probes as above are immobilized; (2) kit for detecting a target molecule in vitro, comprising a probe as above, a reaction buffer and optionally the target molecule as a control; (3) kit for detecting a target molecule in vivo, comprising a probe as above and a cell-permeabilizing agent; (4) kit for synthesizing a probe as above, comprising one hybridization sequence with a coupling group for reaction with the amino terminus of the peptide, another hybridization sequence with a coupling group for reaction with the carboxy terminus of the peptide, a donor chromophore bonded to one of the hybridization sequences, an acceptor chromophore bonded to the other of the hybridization sequences, and optionally reagents for performing the coupling reactions.</p> |
