The method involves transforming a pre-form of a thermoplastic material by blow pressure effect along a transportation path in an area of a heating section within a blowing pipe into a container after thermal conditioning. The pre-form is held along a part of the transportation path through the heating section by a transportation element that rotatably holds the pre-form. A rotational movement is provided by engagement of profile elements in a profile strand that runs along a part of the path. The profile strand is guided in a closed circulation along a heating distance. An independent claim is also included for a device for blow-molding containers of a thermoplastic material.
