PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle seat reclining device capable of securing a sufficient strength while suppressing nonuniform shape of a vehicle seat in the seat width direction. SOLUTION: Gear mechanisms 25, 26 and 33 consist of upper plates having internally toothed gears, and lower plates having externally toothed gears having the number of teeth less than those of the internally toothed gears and meshed with the internally toothed gears. One and two gear mechanisms 25, 26 and 33 are provided in one side and the other side of the seat width direction of the vehicle seat, respectively. This vehicle seat reclining device is provided with a shaft 50 for connecting between one gear mechanism 33 in one side in the seat width direction and the two gear mechanisms 25 and 26 in the other side in the seat width direction, and an electric motor 51 rotatingly actuating the shaft to recline the seat back by moving the engagement position of the internal gears and the externally toothed gears of the respective gear mechanisms, and the electric motor is fixed to the upper arm 32 in one side in the seat width direction.
