PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant composition for railroad members which has a high effect on lateral pressure reduction, wear prevention, grinding sound suppression, and prevention of sliding or slip of vehicles, is hardly influenced by the environment such as rainfall, and has low running cost. SOLUTION: The lubricant composition of the present invention at least comprises a lubricant base oil, a surfactant, a lubricating oil additive, and water. The lubricant composition has a property to reduce the friction between railroad members in a microscopic sliding region and a property to increase the friction between the railroad members with the increase in a slip ratio in a macroscopic sliding region.
