PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively remove noise. SOLUTION: A video signal processor is provided with a moving amount detector 41 which detects a moving amount MV on the basis of a video signal Vsd, a recursive noise removing unit 46 which removes noise from the video signal, and a coefficient setting unit 45 which sets a coefficient for setting an amount of recursion of the recursive noise removing unit 46 according to the moving amount MV detected by the moving amount detector 412. When the difference in moving amount between sequential pictures exceeds a prescribed level, the coefficient setting unit 45 sets the coefficient so that the amount of recursion is smaller for a prescribed period than when the coefficient is set according to the moving amount. When the difference in moving amount between frames or fields increases owing to scene change etc., an afterimage is prevented from being generated to effectively remove the noise.
