HEAT-SENSITIVE TRANSFER INK SHEET, INK CARTRIDGE, COATING COMPOSITION FOR DYE LAYER OF HEAT-SENSITIVE TRANSFER INK SHEET AND HEAT-SENSITIVE TRANSFER RECORDING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition for the dye layer of a heat-sensitive transfer ink sheet which is highly sensitive and free from image defects, and a heat-sensitive transfer recording method.

SOLUTION: The heat-sensitive transfer ink sheet has the dye layer formed on a support by containing a heat transfer dye in a resin binder. The dye layer contains a polyvinyl acetal modified by a chemical compound represented by at least a kind of formula [1]. In the formula [1], either of R1or R2is a branched hydrocarbon group, and the other is a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group. Alternatively, R1and R2are bonded with each other to express a group for forming a cyclic hydrocarbon.
