PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine which enables the maintenance of the non-informative mode of notifying no players that the game is in a variable-probability state or other advantageous game states while enabling the enhancing of the attractiveness. SOLUTION: In the pachinko game machine which makes variable-probability state awardable while making no positive notification to players of the state, with the conditions that the variable display of figures is done under the normal game state and the variable probability game state, a lottery is conducted for switching patterns. At this point, in a low probability background performance processing mode, the switch lottery probability is made significantly smaller than that in the high-probability background performance processing mode, namely, under the normal game state (non-variable probability state). With the progress of the game in the mode, frequency of changes as caused in the display pattern of an auxiliary performance display to be switched can be minimized. This clarifies the difference in the background shift mode to enable the players to estimate that the game is in the probability game state, thereby realizing the elevation of expectations felt by the players.
