PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car navigation apparatus and a reception apparatus for effectively providing a driver with received information. SOLUTION: If an information-displayed location of received information for implementing an information retention overlaps a recommended route, and a predicted time when a vehicle reaches the information-displayed location is within a period defined by effective period information during a route navigation, a CPU 101 controls each section so as to inform a driver that the information for implementing the information retention is received when the information for implementing the information retention is received. If the information for implementing the information retention is received when the route navigation is not implemented, and a road through which the vehicle frequently passes overlaps the information-displayed location of the received information for implementing the information retention, the CPU 101 controls each section so as to display the information for implementing the information retention on a display monitor 14 in detail when the information for implementing the information retention is received.
