PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display apparatus for vehicle, which allows for new rendition utilizing the flexibility of a display device to be able to improve the commercial value, with respect to the display apparatus for vehicles utilizing the display device called a multi-display for displaying various pieces of information by multiplexing or switching. SOLUTION: A display apparatus 1 for vehicles includes a multi-display device 10 for displaying various pieces of information to a user, an image storage means 105 wherein background images 201a to 201d to be displayed on the multi-display device 10 are stored, and a control means 103 which selects different background images 201a to 201d from the image storage means 105 in accordance with prescribed input information to display them on the multi-display device 10 by switching.
