摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength conversion technology by which the number of optical components can be reduced and cost reduction can be attained without using an electric circuit and a mechanical movable part, influence of electromagnetic wave interference is not received, a cause of electromagnetic wave interference is not produced and utilization of light having a wide wavelength selection range is made possible and which has high durability and whose real practical use is expected. SOLUTION: The wavelength conversion device includes a signal light inputting part 12 in which pulse-shaped signal light 14 having a specified wavelength is made incident, a light source 13 for light for conversion radiating light 15 for conversion having a wavelength different from that of the signal light 14, a heat lens forming means 11 having a light absorption layer having a wavelength band showing absorption properties to the signal light 14 and transmission properties to the light 15 for conversion and showing a heat lens effect and a conversion light selection part emitting only light for conversion to be deflection light whose going path is changed of emitted light for conversion as conversion light. In the light absorption layer of the heat lens forming means 11, the signal light 14 and light 15 for conversion are condensed so that condensing points are made different in a direction perpendicular to an optical axis.
