PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature converter capable of improving a linear error, capable of preventing complicated processing and troublesome confirmation, and capable of linearizing a reference thermo-electromotive force or a reference resistance value, by optimum polynomial approximation. SOLUTION: The temperature converter for linearizing an output based on a nonlinear detection signal of a temperature detecting element including a thermocouple or a resistance bulb to get linear with respect to a temperature change includes a temperature conversion part for linearizing the output, using an approximate polynomial of N-th order, and an approximate coefficient table part for assigning a coefficient of the approximate polynomial and an approximate range, and the temperature conversion part reads the coefficient for approximation coming within the approximate range of the detection signal from the approximate coefficient table part, and conducts approximate polynomial calculation.
