PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an operation amount and a data amount of a program code, in a system for deriving a distribution index of magnetic data. SOLUTION: When the ratio of each eigenvalue of a variance covariance matrix of a population data group comprising magnetic data is used as a distribution index of the population data group, a solution of a quadratic equation acquired by deforming a characteristic equation is derived by a dichotomy wherein an initial section is slightly shifted from a section having a true solution, and the solution acquired resultantly is used as the distribution index.
