PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water droplet removing device and a water droplet removing method for a linear member capable of surely removing water droplets attached to a surface of the linear member without decreasing a moving speed of the linear member. SOLUTION: This water droplet removing device A has a negative pressure generating portion 1 such as a pump generating negative pressure, an air spray pipe 2 for spraying the air produced by the negative pressure generated by the negative pressure generating portion 1 to a surface of the linear member W, and a water absorbing portion 3 kept into contact with the surface of the linear member W for absorbing the water droplets attached to the linear member W. The negative pressure generating portion 1 sucks the moisture absorbed by a contact member 4 of the water absorbing portion by negative pressure through a moisture draft pipe 7. The moisture draft pipe 7 is provided with a moisture removing portion 8 for removing the moisture from the air produced by negative pressure suction, and delivering the air from which the moisture is removed, to the negative pressure generating portion 1.
