PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize back tension applied from the upper end of an inclined abutting surface when media fed to a feeding roller abut on the lower portion of the inclined abutting surface and get over the inclined abutting surface. SOLUTION: The feeding device includes: a medium support section supporting sheetlike media; the inclined abutting surface which is inclined in a horizontal direction and on which the ends of the media supported by the medium supporting section abut; and the feeding roller which is arranged above the medium support section and is rotated while abutting on the uppermost medium among media supported by the medium support section to thereby feed the media over the inclined abutting surface.
