PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convey a tag in a reproducible fashion to a mouth portion of a bag inserted into attachment space; to prevent the tag from falling during its conveyance. SOLUTION: A strapping machine comprises a tag holding mechanism 3A having a claw fitted with an attachment portion of the tag 1A, aligned to fastening portions of the tag 1A and having a tying member passage through which a tying member is passed from one fastening portion to the other fastening portion, a tying member fastening mechanism 7A having an attachment space 92b wherein the tag 1A is attached to the bag with the tying member passing through the tying member passage of the tag holding mechanism 3A, a movable guide plate mechanism 8A which guides the bag into the attachment space 92b, and a tag holding drive mechanism 9A which moves the tag holding mechanism 3A toward or away from the guide plate mechanism 8A wherein the tag holding mechanism 3A abuts on the guide plate mechanism 8A so as to push back the guide plate mechanism 8A.
