PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide welding equipment and a welding method in which resistance welding can be surely performed on a target weld zone without shifting a second electrode tip from a position opposing a first electrode tip, even if an obstacle such as a hollow part is formed on the second electrode tip side of the target weld zone, when the target weld zone of a workpiece is held between the first and second electrode tips being opposite to each other. SOLUTION: The welding equipment performing welding while holding a workpiece W between the first and second electrode tips 3, 4, is provided with a conduction means 2 that secures electric conduction by being interposed between the second electrode tip 4 and the workpiece W. The conduction means 2 includes a conducting member 10 which is opposite at one end to the workpiece W with a gap in-between and abutted at the other end on the second electrode tip 4, and also includes a pair of abutting members 8, 9 whose tip ends are brought into contact with the workpiece W, the abutting members 8, 9 being apart from each other in the both ends direction across the abutting position of the second electrode tip 4 of the conducting member 10.
