PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy blank having an optimum intensity distribution corresponding to a forming object, which has improved its drawability and can produce a product without causing breakage even if the product is large-sized and complexly shaped. SOLUTION: An aluminum alloy blank 1 is formed into a predetermined product shape by press forming. The intensity of the blank of a shrink flange deformation area 5, which is in the forming area having a drawing height highest in the product and subjected to shrink flange deformation in press forming, is previously made lower than that of a punch bottom contact area 6, with which the bottom of the punch comes into contact in press forming. Within a range 7, which is a wall part positioned between the shrink flange deformation area and the punch bottom contact area and corresponds to the drawing height, the intensity of the blank is made to continuously transit (vary).
