<p>A mechanism for transmitting or receiving beacon frames in a coordinator-based network is provided to make a device, which receives a beacon frame, awaken from power save mode every two or more beacon intervals, not every beacon interval, in order to minimize the power consumption. A coordinator device in a coordinator-based network, such as a BAN(Body Area Network), regularly broadcasts a beacon frame at a beacon interval. A specific device, such as an implanted device which belongs to the coordinator-based network, receives the broadcasted beacon frame not every beacon interval but every two or more beacon intervals. The specific device additionally receives a beacon frame from the coordinator device at an allocated CFP(Contention Free Period). In this case, the specific device transmits a beacon frame request message to the coordinator device before receiving the additional beacon frame.</p> |
