A method and a system for updating customized information are provided to offer contents searched by a keyword to a user in each service cycle by enabling the user to register the desired keyword or service cycle through a terminal, and make the user recognize the updated contents by providing a message for notifying the user of the update contents in each service cycle. An interface unit(310) receives a first message including a keyword from a terminal(360) by using an application operated in the terminal. A keyword extractor(330) extracts the keyword from the received first message. A searcher(340) searches contents from a first contents database by using the extracted keyword. A message generator(350) generates and transmits a second message including the searched contents to the terminal. The application is downloaded to the terminal from a service server and is installed to the terminal by relating to generation of the first message. The interface unit receives the first message from the terminal based on an SMS(Short Message Service)/WAP(Wireless Application Protocol)-push mode. The message generator transmits the second message to the terminal based on the SMS/WAP-push mode. An authentication unit(320) processes authentication by interworking with the terminal which transmitted a first message(M1).
