<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical installation type image forming apparatus capable of suppressing size increase of the apparatus in the horizontal direction, and suppressing thermal degradation of developer. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with a recording sheet accommodation part (paper feeding tray 8) in which a recording sheet is held in such a state that it stands in the vertical directions; an image forming part which forms an image on the recording sheet conveyed from the recording sheet accommodating part; and a recording sheet ejecting part (paper ejection tray 4) in which the recording sheet conveyed from the image forming part is held in such a state that it stands in the vertical directions. A recording sheet conveying path is provided to extend upward from the lower part of the recording sheet accommodating part. In the image forming part installed in the middle of the conveying path, a fixing device 13 is arranged above a developing part, having at least a developer carrier (developing roller 24) and a developer container (toner cartridge 40), constituting the developing part is arranged on the end side in the longitudinal direction of the developer carrier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
