<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic settlement method equal to cash settlement, which is usable also in a game hall. <P>SOLUTION: In this electronic settlement system, a cellular phone acquires an equipment ID from a ball dispenser by performing communication with the ball dispenser through a noncontact IC card, and transmits a payment request message containing the acquired equipment ID and a user ID to the electronic settlement server. The electronic settlement server reports a transfer amount to be transferred from a user account to a settlement agent account to an internal server, and the internal server stores this transfer amount as a deposit. The internal server instructs, according to the payment request message from the cellular phone, the ball dispenser to provide rental balls according to a rental ball fee, adds an amount according to the rental ball fee to a used amount, and transmits a transfer request to a storage network so as to transfer the used amount from the settlement agent account to a game hall agent account.
