PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a shutter chance from being missed by attaining a photographable state immediately after the activation of a system by selecting a zoom position desired by a photographer when turning ON the power. SOLUTION: When it is detected that a power switch 14 is tuned ON and a photographer arbitrarily selects a Tele end or a Wide end using a tele-wide changeover switch 17B further, the digital camera controls a camera main body so as to be in the photographable state after moving a zoom lens 30 to the selected Tele end or Wide end.
