PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photodetector capable of preventing the superimposition of noise charges and generating accurate current signals. SOLUTION: The problem is solved by providing a first light receiving region formed on a semiconductor substrate and having at least one light receiving part divided into a plurality of sections for outputting current values corresponding to incident light, a second light receiving region formed on the semiconductor substrate and having at least one light receiving part divided into the plurality of sections for outputting the current values corresponding to the incident light, and a selection circuit connected to the first light receiving region and the second light receiving region for alternately outputting one of the current values outputted by the first light receiving region and the second light receiving region and connecting the other to prescribed potential.
