PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method capable of obtaining an electric double layer capacitor electrode capable of obtaining the electric double layer capacitor of small internal resistance with excellent productivity. SOLUTION: The electric double layer capacitor electrode is manufactured by a process (I) of forming an active material layer by molding an electrode material containing an electrode active material, a binding agent and thermally-degradable polymer particles, a process (II) of laminating the active material layer and a collector, and a process (III) of heating the active material layer to 260 to 350°C and degrading the thermally decomposable polymer particles.
