PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication encryption method and a communication system that ensure ample confidentiality, without having to impose much load for processing either on the transmitting side or on the receiving side in communication. SOLUTION: Plaintext data and encryption key data are arrayed in a multiple dimension. After performing a prescribed shift or a combination of shifts of the array of the encryption key data at least in one dimension from among the multiple dimensions, the plaintext data are encrypted by using the shifted encryption key data.
