PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a method for more effectively carrying out maintenance of a recording head in an inkjet recorder equipped with a maintenance device for the recording head. SOLUTION: In the maintenance method of the inkjet recorder which carries out maintenance of the recording head 8 equipped with a plurality of nozzles 9, cleaning is continuously carried out by a plurality of the number of times in the method by combining the wet cleaning process of jetting a liquid to a cleaning material 21 by a liquid jet device 28 and cleaning the recording head 8 by a wet part, and the dry cleaning process of cleaning the recording head 8 by a dry part of the cleaning material 21 to which the liquid is not jetted by the liquid jet device 28.
