PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abrasive for blast processing excellent in durability, capable of forming a satisfactory mirror finished surface in mirror finishing on the inner surface of a metal mold and mirror finishing on automotive parts or the like by blast processing, and a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: This abrasive for blast processing in an approximately spherical shape is constituted by dispersing abrasive grains previously given hydrophobic treatment in an acrylic resin matrix of which the glass-transition temperature is 25°C or less. In this manufacturing method for the abrasive for blast processing, acrylic monomers are suspension-polymerized under the presence of the abrasive grains. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
