METHOD FOR EVALUATING SLAGGING PROPERTY AND MELTING PROPERTY OF MOLD POWDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for quantitatively evaluating the slagging property and the melting property of mold powder to be used for the continuous casting method or the ingot casting method of steel. SOLUTION: A ratio of the mass of the slagged mold powder after heating to the total mass of the mold powder before heating is defined as a slagged ratio. The slagging property and the melting property of the mold powder are evaluated by the slagged ratio. In other words, the slagged ratio to be calculated by the following expression (1) is used as a method for quantitatively evaluating the slagging property and the melting property of the mold powder by numerals.
