PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink sheet for heat-sensitive transfer recording which imparts a full color image with an excellent color developing density, clarity and fastness properties despite a high magenta color chroma.

SOLUTION: This ink sheet for heat-sensitive transfer recording includes a base sheet and a coloring matter bearing layer formed on one surface of the base sheet, and is characterized in that the magenta coloring matter contained in the coloring matter bearing layer is a mixture of an anthraquinone-based coloring matter expressed by a specific chemical structure and an azo dyestuff expressed by a specific chemical structure.
