PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an HDD recorder in which reproduction history of music data can be updated when the music data are reproduced by a CD player. SOLUTION: (1) When the music data of a CD is reproduced in a CD player, (2) the CD player transmits reproduced TOC of the CD and the track number of the already reproduced music to the HDD recorder.(3) The HDD recorder registers contents information corresponding to the received TOC in a contents list as virtual contents.(4) The HDD recorder updates reproduction history of the music data specified by the received TOC and the track number.(5) When music data of the same CD are recorded in the HDD recorder 10, the virtual contents in the contents list is changed to real contents. Consequently, reproduction history of the music data reproduced by the CD player before recording the music data in the HDD recorder can be reflected to the HDD recorder after recording of the music data.
