PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer gel material having high elastic modulus, strength, mechanical toughness and controlled low swelling property and excellent in whiteness and paramagnetism. SOLUTION: The invention provides a polymer gel complex obtained by complexing a polymer gel comprising (A) a polymer derived from a water-soluble organic monomer and (B) a water swellable clay mineral with (C) a metal oxide in a finely dispersed state, and a method for producing the complex. The gel of the invention has excellent mechanical properties controlled over a wide range and a controlled low swelling property and is excellent in whiteness, paramagnetism, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
