PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device preventing contamination such as rub contamination and transfer contamination and reducing printing time. SOLUTION: The printing data printed to a medium to be printed is divided in a plurality of areas according to the conveying direction of the medium to be printed and the printing times and the drying times of the respective areas are calculated based on the data quantities of the every divided areas (S110 to S130). Then standby times from the time when completing printing to the time when the printing is dried for every image output directions of the printing data are calculated considering that the drying time of the area previously printed passes when printing according to the printing times and the drying times for the every respective areas (S140). Further, printing is started to the medium to be printed in the image output direction of the printing data in which the standby time become shortest (S150 to S210). COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
