PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer of simple configuration in which a roll sheet can be set easily. SOLUTION: The printer 2 constituting a taximeter integrating a printer comprises a case 6 having an opening 4 in the front surface and a space 5 for containing a roll sheet loaded from the opening 4 on the front side, a print head 22 arranged deeper than the roll sheet containing space 5 in the case 6, a platen roller 70 arranged movably between the roll sheet containing space 5 and the print head 22, and a mechanism for moving the platen roller 70 between a position close to the roll sheet containing space 5 separated from the print head 22 and a position above the separate position and proximate to the print head 22.
