The invention relates to an air conditioning device for the passenger compartment (2) of a motor vehicle, comprising a cooling circuit (8) with a coolant (9), especially CO₂. The coolant (9) is mixed with an odorant, thereby allowing to detect leaks of the cooling circuit (8).
