An apparatus, method and system for generating a file of a three dimensional image based on media standards are provided to generate a three dimensional image file of ISO format which is compatible with previous handsets without being against the standard of ISO/IEC14496-12 file format. A system for generating a file of a three dimensional image based on media standards includes a three dimensional file generation apparatus and an image reproduction apparatus. The three dimensional file generation apparatus generates a three dimensional image file including a data area and a header area. The data area includes the first video track having the first video data and the second video track having the second video data synchronized with the first video data and used in reproducing the three dimensional image. The header area includes the first video track information area having the first video track information and the second video track information area having the second video track information. The image reproduction apparatus decodes the first video data and the second video data at the same time and reproduces the three dimensional image.
