REACTION SINTERING SILICON NITRIDE-BASED SINTERED BODY AND ITS PRODUCING PROCESS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a reaction sintering silicon nitride-based sintered body equivalent to the conventional products at a low temperature and short time when producing the reaction sintering silicon nitride-based sintered body, and to provide its product.

SOLUTION: ZrO2having an effect of a nitriding catalyst is added to a silicon raw material and reaction sintering is performed at the lower temperature and shorter time than in the conventional method and thereby the reaction sintering silicon nitride-based sintered body material having the mechanical characteristics equal to those of the reaction sintering silicon nitride of the conventional products is produced. The production of the silicon nitride-based reaction sintered body is made possible by the reaction sintering at the lower temperature and the shorter time as compared to the conventional method and therefore, the production and provision of the reaction sintering silicon nitride-based sintered body having the mechanical characteristics equal to those of the conventional products with lower energy consumption are made possible.
