CYLINDRICAL BATTERY AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce battery internal resistance while simplifying a manufacturing process by allowing a collector and the inner bottom of an exterior can to be weldable with each other without using an insulator between the collector and the inner bottom.

SOLUTION: A negative-electrode collector 10 is provided between an electrode group 3 and the bottom plate 9 of an exterior can 2 so as to electrically connect the exterior can 2 with hydrogen-absorbing alloy negative-electrode plates of the electrode group 3. The negative-electrode collector is composed as follows. Its upper face is formed with a plurality of burring protrusions connected with the hydrogen-absorbing alloy negative-electrode plates. Its center includes a protruding part 20 formed protrudingly to the electrode group 3 side. Meanwhile, its lower face is formed with a plurality of projections 32 connected with the bottom plate 9 of the exterior can 2.
