PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus, imaging method and program in which the color of a reagent on an examination sheet is accurately output. SOLUTION: The apparatus images the examination sheet including the reagent of which the color is changed by contact with an object to be examined. The apparatus includes: an imaging section for imaging the examination sheet; an input/output conversion curve acquisition section for acquiring an input/output conversion curve which specifies a corresponding relationship between luminance levels of input data and output data, and of which a change amount of the output data with respect to a change amount of the input data in the range where the luminance of the color of the reagent is changed, is greater than the change amount of the output data with respect to the change amount of the input data in another range; and an input/output converting section for performing input/output conversion upon an image of the examination sheet picked up by the imaging section while using the input/output conversion curve acquired by the input/output conversion curve acquisition section.
