PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal plate resistor improving connection stability with a packaging substrate. SOLUTION: The metal plate resistor has: a box-like case 11 where an upper surface 11a is opened and a cutout section 12 is provided at one side section 11b; an insulating material filled into the case 11; a resistor 14 buried into the insulating material; and a pair of terminals 15 connected to both ends of the resistor 14, where the tip is withdrawn from the cutout section 12 of the case 11 to the outside of the case 11. A plurality of folding sections 17 are formed in the resistor 14 and are arranged along the outer periphery of a plurality of projections 16 projecting toward the upper portion of a bottom surface 11c in the case 11.
