PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automobile air bag fastener and a method for mounting the fastener for connecting an automobile vehicle air bag assembly. SOLUTION: The air bag mounting fastener 10 includes first and second fastener members connected by a hinge member. The first and second fastener members are rotated from a fastener-opened state and are engaged with each other at a fastener-closed position. The fastener-closed position gives the air bag member arranged between the first and second fastener members. The first and second fastener members receive a vehicle connection stud, and have an opening for supporting both of the air bag mounting fastener and the air bag member from the stud. An arm extending from the second fastener member is rotated relative to the second fastener member. The arm is extended from the second fastener member in the fastener-closed state, engaged with the second fastener member, abutted on the stud, and visually indicates the fastener mounting completion state.
